The author takes you on a journey through the life and death of a woman who will come to be known as “The Lady in White” and the circumstances that led to the engineers’ untimely demise.

Included in this book are real newspaper clippings of the victims' deaths and many other articles as well as maps of Marceline during this time period.

Jodee Patel was born and raised in a small town of Marceline, Missouri, but now calls Kansas City her home. Jodee worked in book publishing before she started writing her own books.

Jodee has written whimsical children's stories, which include The Purple Rabbit and Mariah and the Enchanted Forest. She has also written paranormal and science fiction books, which include The Lady in White and The Lost Key.

Jodee has recently published a historical nonfiction book, 1870-1920 History of Towns in Missouri Through Newspaper Snippets. She is currently working on a sequel to The Lady in White.
