About Dr. Deirdre Williams (Austin, Texas Author)

Dr. Deirdre Williams

Dr. Deirdre Williams is an educator who loves reading and writing. She gained her love for reading from her mother who always took her to the local library for story hour and summer reading club. In 2005, she participated in the DC Area Writing Project, an affiliate of the National Writing Project. It was during this time she began to pull out her writings from her childhood and build on them.

During her educational career, she earned a Doctorate of Education from Argosy University in Washington, DC, an Education Specialist Degree from Argosy University, a Master's Degree in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University, a Master of Arts in International Relations from St. Mary's University, and a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Texas State University. She has served as Adjunct Faculty in the Graduate School of Education and Continuing Education Departments at Trinity University in Washington, DC. She is also a member of the Writers League of Texas and Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.

Dr. Deirdre understands that all she has and will accomplish is not for her benefit, but for the benefit of God's kingdom. She learned to evolve as a children's writer when she started writing about life's journey. That is where you share your innermost self, and she is not afraid to put it out there.

What inspires her is sharing the love and passion she has for reading and storytelling. She enjoys when her readers can relate to her stories and get help from them. She is as real as a person gets as a writer, glass houses do crack just as much as any person does.
